Skate 3 All But Confirmed

Looks like Twitter is at it again. The Twitter account of skateboarding website epicly trife posted this little ditty last night.

"I just got told "tonight we gotta celebrate", one of the bro's got offered to be in SKATE 3"

So there you go, one of the "bros" got offered Skate 3. That's it, just a little PSA from us to you. Skate 3, get psyched!

Gamestop Pokes Fun At Itself, Internet Crumbles

Kotaku just posted this story about Gamestop bundling Wii's with dollar toys. The story and the comments that follow are of the OMG GAMESTOP IS THE FUCKING DEVIL! variety, but clearly what we have here is a mega-corp poking fun at itself. For the last few years demand for Wii's has been so high, that the company has had to bundle games and accessories with the system to bring up the price and slow down sales. Well now that Wii's are bountiful these free bonuses are obviously just a way for Game Stop to make fun of the bundling they have had to do..

Valve Waiting To Hire Top Notch PS3 Coders

Left 4 Dead hasn't yet appeared on Playstation 3, and Left 4 Dead 2 isn't. Why? Well according to Valve it's because they don't have any decent in-house PS3 coders. They assure us that when they do, they will gladly release their games on the Playstation 3. Valve has nothing against the system.

PSPgo Has Faster CPU

Sony Insider wants you to know that the PSPgo will have a 480Mhz CPU which is about 40% faster than the PSPs CPU. So there you have it. The reason it's $250? More speed under the hood. Speed + Nostalgia = $70 premium.

Left 4 Dead DLC Will Be Announced By The End Of Summer

CVG is reporting that Valve has a Left 4 Dead DLC announcement to make by the end of Summer, and that they will continue to support the game even after the sequel's release. We're starting to get the feeling that Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead could work together and we could see DLC released for both games continually. Me personally, I have a radical theory but I'll get into that on Bullshot!

Midway Studios Have 60 Days, Or Else!

Joystiq is reporting that Midway San Diego, and Midway New Castle were not picked up as part of the Warner Bros. deal. Those studios now have 60 days to be acquired by another entity or they will close. Midway New Castle worked on Wheelman and of course the recently announced Necessary Force. Midway San Diego was in charge of the TNA franchise. Our fingers are crossed for them as we don't need to see any more layoffs this year.

Say WHAAAAAT?? UFC Will Ban Fighters Who Appear In EA MMA?

Alright let's start by addressing the fact that this is purely a rumor, but according to the crazy kids over at mixedmartialarts.com any UFC fighter who agrees to appear in next year's EA Sports MMA game will be blacklisted from the UFC. How crazy is that? We guess the justification here is that UFC and THQ are trying to protect their sales juggernaut, but that's pretty harsh. Especially considering that work has probably already started on the game. If the rumor turns out to be true the UFC might have to start hiring guys like me to get in the octagon, and you don't want to see my fighting style(spoilers: it's batshit insane style).

Blizzard Entertainment Trademarks Something The Gaming World Holds Breath

WOW.com is reporting that Blizzard has trademarked the term Cataclysm, and that the URL wowcataclysm.com has been parked by godaddy.com who is responsible for all of Blizzard's other URLs. So what do we have here? A new expansion? A mini game? A story site? An XBLA game? WHO KNOWS!?! Although Blizzcon is just around the corner...hmmmm....

SOCOM: Confrontation DLC Coming Later This Summer

That's really all the news we have on that. Just thought you might like to know. Sometime later this Summer, the Playstation 3 game will get some form of DLC. Everything we know is in this blog post on the SOCOM site. If you hear anything else, let us know.

Gears Of War 2 Double XP 4th Of July Weekend

To celebrate this country's independence, and maybe Title Update 4 starting Friday July 3rd you will gain double XP in Gears 2. Also the winning team will get 500XP. Not too shabby, might help you earn some of those XP achievements. If competetive multiplayer isn't quite your thing, you will earn double XP in Horde mode, but wait! To celebrate this bombastic holiday, every 10th wave will be nothing but Tickers! So go forth and beat back the Locust Horde this Fourth of July!

SquareEnix Xbox Live Arcade Game Is Called Death By Cube

There really isn't anything to say here. SquareEnix is working on an old school arcade game for Xbox Live Arcade called Death By Cube. That's it. No release date, not additional details. Just know that Robotronesque arcade action is coming from the people who brought you Final Fantasy.

Kodu Game Lab Hits Indie Games Channel On 360

Kodu Game Lab the "game" that let's you create any kind of game you want. Is finally available to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The game is hard to describe as it's not really a game until you finish making it a game. It sounds like it's worth checking out, if only to see what the community might be able to create with it. Kodu Game Lab will run you 400 Microsoft dollars.

Insert Joke About How Gamers Don't Read Here

2 books announced over the last 2 days. First up, Gears of War: Jacinto's Remnant written by acclaimed Star Wars novelist Karen Traviss. She also wrote last year's Gears of War: Aspho Fields, which was a prequel to Gears of War. The new book which is due out this month, July 28th to be exact is a sequel to Gears of War 2. That's right, remember how abruptly that game ended? Well this book will pick up where the game left off. Interesting.

At last year's PAX ArenaNet the makers of Guild Wars announced there would be a trilogy of novels connecting Guild Wars 1 and 2. Well the first novel Fall of Ascalon has been dated for February 10th of 2010. Between this, new Halo novels, and Dragon Age: Origin novels it's going to be quite a year for deciding if you want to pick up the controller or pick up a book. Choose wisely!

Better Late Than Never

Fear not child for we have not abandoned you. Due to a series of unfortunate events (none involving the guy from The Mask) no one was able to give you fill of news today. But don't worry, Fish is here and I intend to give you a flood of news. I'm speaking in the purely biblical sense here. There will be no pictures, only a tremendous stream of purified news, all for your consumption. Drink deep my friends... Drink deep from the Chalice of Revelation.

  • Remember when ngmoco said that Rolando was going to be removed from the iTunes Store to make room for Rolando 2? SIKE. Apparently, ngmoco is one of those companies who listen to their customer base. Your cries did not go unheard, Rolando shall remain. (Joystiq)
  • Monolith (makers of FEAR, Condemned, and a other amazing PC titles) is hiring. Are you a software engineer? You have a chance to work on their next "Triple A next generation console title." If you get the job do me a favor and push for Shogo 2. The world will thank you later. (Joystiq)
  • In a revelation not unlike Sammy Sosa's positive drug test it seems like Lionhead is working on Fable 3. I know, I was surprised too. Odder still is the manner in which this news came to light. Obviously this is not an official reveal but I'll let you in on a little secret: Lionhead is working on Fable 3 (Multiplayer)
  • Nintendo continues to print money as Wii Sports Resort sells 350,000 copies in it's first week of release in Japan. (Joystiq)
  • Sega still wants to push out M rated Wii games thanks to House of the Dead: Overkill's profits. Madworld, unfortunately, didn't sell as well as they expected but Sega is relatively unfazed by this. (Joystiq)
  • Red Faction 2 will be seeing some DLC starting August 13th. The first of three DLC packs (entitled Demons of the Badlands) will retail for $9.99 or 800 spacebux. More details on he remaining 2 titles will be forthcoming. (Joystiq)
  • Rare is pleased as punch that the father of Milo is helping raise their profile. Turning Peter Molyneux into their evangelist has raised the morale in a Rare office that felt like their visibility dropped after being bought by Microsoft. (Joystiq)
  • When Last.fm comes to the 360 dash later this fall it will be free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Silver members will be able to enjoy it for only 3 hours a month. I have to wonder if one will be able to increase that time by sending Microsoft old AOL install disks. I probably have 300 million hours saved up. (Joystiq)
  • Blizzard has answered the cries of it's fans by explaining why it decided to remove all LAN play from it's upcoming Starcraft II. Seems like all roads will run through Battle.net. I know some of you are upset by this and I cannot blame you. If you were thinking about writing an online petition, however, I am afraid you have been beaten to the proverbial e-punch. (Multiplayer)
  • Is the PS3 Slim a reality? Is it really coming next month? That's the rumor. No mention of price or features but, if I were a betting man, I would bet it doesn't come with a UMD drive either. (Kotaku)
  • Finally tonight, I would like to provide you with a safety blanket. Michael Patcher has been dropping all manner of knowledge on the industry this week with his predictions and there is one that should make you feel a bit more cozy. This console generation not only will continue for the foreseeable future but will generate a metric crap ton of hardware skus. The only one that should matter to you is the Hannah Montana PSP. (Joystiq)

That's all the news that is fit to print today my friends. The Plachinator will return to you tomorrow to make sure the news flows in a timely (and much funnier) fashion. I am going to watch this week's Deadliest Catch episode now so I bid you adieu.

Say Goodbye To Rolando, Say Hello To Rolando 2

Touch Arcade is reporting that ngmoco will be pulling Rolando, easily one of the top five best iPhone games from the app store this week. Why would they do such a thing? To make way for it's sequel Rolando 2, which will hit the app store on July 1st. There doesn't seem to be any plot ties to the first game(the first game hardly had a plot)so if you miss out it wont be too big of a deal, as Rolando 2 appears to play the same as Rolando 1, but much improved. Just consider this your warning. If you want the original Rolando you better act fast.

Id Is Bringing It All To The iPhone

John Carmack sure gets around lately. Today he told MTV Multiplayer that every id property is coming to Apple's little device that could. Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3(though this may have to be a iPhone 3G S exclusive), the RPG games, and even a version of RAGE will show up eventually. He closed with his now famous quote "I expect we’ll have an iPhone project every two to three months over the next year". We don't mind John, we don't mind.

StarCraft 2 Beta Is In It For The Long Haul

Dustin Browder StarCraft II's lead designer told Kotaku that the public beta for SC II is set to last 4-6 months. The beta is about ready to kick off which would put the StarCraft sequel at a December or so retail release. Well you know, fingers crossed. This is Blizzard we are talking about. Could a year go by without a Blizzard release? Sure it could. At least we will be able to play in the beta!

Kingdom Hearts 3 Not Coming Any Time Soon

Kingdom Hearts designer Tetsuya Nomura has said in an interview that he is just now going over ideas for Kingdom Hearts 3. The man has been busy with the 10 kajillion side story games that will be released over the next year or so, and doesn't have to really think about it right now. He says the next game might not even be Kingdom Hearts 3, but a mystery game set in the KH universe. Nomura's also working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII so don't expect any announcements any time soon. I guess this confirms that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out for Playstation 4 in 2015!

Battlefield 1943 Is Coming July 9th

The digital exclusive(Xbox Live Arcade/Playstation Network)Battlefield game 1943 appears to be hitting those services on July 9th. That's according to the hopefully reliable EA website. Curiously no PC version is listed, making 1943 another Battlefield title not appearing on that platform. Moving the franchise farther away from it's PC roots. No word on how many space bucks you will need or how much money will need to be in your Playstation wallet to purchase the game.

1vs100 Beta Over Next Week?

According to this story, last night during a live show of 1vs100, live host Chris Cashman reminded players that there wont be any prizes until next week. Which was awfully nice of him, until you realize that, that's the first we have heard of that. According to the article it seems pretty legit. Cashman tried to cover for his mistake, but even he seemed to not be buying it. Hopefully early this week we get some confirmation from Microsoft about 1vs100.
